Khemenu: Eight Towns, Hermopolis, or Per-Djehuty, the House of Thoth

This is the capital of the 15th Nome and the cult center of Thoth. There is the remains of a shrine from the Old Kingdom. There are three monuments from the 12th and 19th dynasties. Seti I and Ramesses II built a temple out of blocks from disgraced Akhetaten, and they built a pylon, hypostyle hall and four rows of columns. Akhetaten is a few kilometers to the southeast.
